School staff need a clear way to manage everyday noise levels and communicate during urgent situations, including a campus lockdown or weather emergency. In busy areas like cafeterias, gyms, and hallways, excessive volume can disrupt activities and make announcements hard to hear. This staff-controlled, color-coded signal provides a visible indication of current expectations or safety status. Using the free, exclusive Lights To Go Inc app, staff can control the signal from a smartphone or tablet through a simple interface. Staff select the appropriate display through the app to communicate noise-level expectations or activate a visual safety alert. The signal helps students understand expectations and follow established school instructions, even in loud environments.
Standard Operation: Volume Management
- 🟢 Solid Green — Normal Volume: Indicates that cafeteria, gym, hallway, or classroom noise levels are within acceptable, productive parameters.
- 🟡 Solid Yellow — Caution: Warns that sound levels have exceeded acceptable parameters and require immediate adjustment.
- 🔴 Solid Red — High Noise Alert: Signals excessive noise. Absolute quiet is required until the indicator returns to Green.
Emergency Operation: Campus Safety Alerts
- 🟡 Flashing Yellow — Hold & Await Instructions: Signals a non-immediate campus incident. Staff can activate this indication through the Lights To Go Inc app on a smartphone or tablet to direct occupants to follow the school’s established instructions.
- 🔴 Flashing Red — Immediate Emergency / Lockdown: Indicates a critical hazard or security situation. Staff can activate this indication through the app to direct occupants to follow established emergency protocols.
